For those of us who remain apprehensive about returning to theaters this summer, movies will hardly be out of reach. Netflix has dropped a new sizzle reel promoting the slew of films hitting the streamer through the end of August. Some we know quite a bit about by now. For instance, Zack Snyder’s zombie flick Army of the Dead, or the Lorde-and-Miller-produced The Mitchells vs. The Machines. (The latter hits the site this week, so enjoy!) But others are only first rearing their heads in the new video. Take a peek below and make note of what stands out. We’ve got the full release schedule for you beneath the video.
Clearly, Netflix’s release slate couriers a range of genre and tone. There’s a Kevin Hart-starring father/daughter dramedy, Fatherhood. There’s a bombastic-looking animated action film titled America: The Motion Picture. (In which Channing Tatum voices George Washington, evidently.) There’s a reboot of She’s All That (itself a reboot of My Fair Lady (which of course was a reboot of Pygmalion)) aptly titled He’s All That.
There’s plenty of horror, ranging from psychological (The Woman in the Window) to full-on slasher fare (the Fear Street Trilogy). Heavy drama like Monster, kooky animated action like the latest Trollhunters. Hopefully, something will pique your interest! Check below for Netflix’s full release schedule.
