Today, we think of as one of the great franchises of the ’80s. But truthfully, it was only one mega-hit movie, and a less successful follow-up five years later. The true reason we think of in this way is because of the massive success of the animated spin-off, The Real Ghostbusters. Long after the 1984 film vanished from theaters, the animated show kept the lights on at the fire station.

It almost seemed like a slap in the face to what had been the preeminent version of the franchise for the last several years.Will
acknowledge the animated series (or its spin-off, ) in any way? Probably not. But this video shows why the show matters to the franchise so much. So we hope the movies acknowledge it in some way.
