The launch of MCU’s Phase 4 has been beset by numerous delays—and rightfully so, given the ongoing pandemic. But during Disney’s Investor Day presentation, Kevin Feige unveiled a host of new MCU-related projects, confirmed the rescheduled dates of the delayed films, and formally announced widely-anticipated projects—including Ant-Man 3.
Here’s everything we know about Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
Who is directing?
Peyton Reed is back for a third go-around with Scott Lang and Hope van Dyne. The director, who helmed both of Ant-Man’s previous solo outings, is returning to direct Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. And as of July 26, 2021, filming is underway. Reed announced the beginning of principal photography with a tweet featuring a terrifying—and surely murderous—bunny.
It begins.

And also recently shared that principal photography concluded with a more serious image.

Who is writing?
Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness will write the next Ant-Man film. The Hollywood Reporter announced the news back in April, confirming Loveness was already at work on the script. Loveness feels like a terrific choice to pen Ant-Man 3. He has a strong background in comedy. He’s written for Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Onion News Network, the Emmys and the Oscars, and for the fan-favorite Rick and Morty. He’s penned comic books too, including stories starring Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, and Wonder Woman among others.

Edgar Wright, Joe Cornish, Adam McKay, and Paul Rudd contributed to the first Ant-Man film. Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Paul Rudd, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari wrote Ant-Man and the Wasp.
What’s it about?
Feige didn’t reveal much at the Investor Day presentation, but casting announcements confirmed Ant-Man and co. will face off against Kang the Conqueror. Plus, during the five years Scott Lang was trapped in the quantum realm, his daughter grew up. Cassie Lang is a teenager now. Will Ant-Man 3 lean at all into the Young Avengers? In the comics, she becomes Stature. And I’m all about watching Lang trying to navigate having a daughter in the superhero biz.
Who is in the cast?
Naturally, Paul Rudd is reprising his role as Scott Lang/Ant-Man, alongside Evangeline Lilly’s Hope van Dyne/Wasp. Also returning are Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfieffer as Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne. Marvel Studios also formally confirmed Jonathan Majors will play Kang the Conqueror. Meanwhile, Kathryn Newton will play a teenage Cassie Lang.
