The Byers and Eleven have traded in demogorgans in Indiana for the sunny wilds of California. During its Stranger Things Day event on November 6, Netflix shared a new teaser for the series giving us a first glimpse at where exactly the family landed after leaving Hawkins at the end of season three. And this time, we’re catching up with the Stranger Things characters in spring 1986.
It’s been about six months since they left Hawkins—185 days to be exact—but it appears a reunion is just around the corner. In a letter to Mike, Eleven shares all about her life in California and how well she’s adjusting. It’s a bit of an embellishment, as we see in the teaser that poor Eleven is n0t quite fitting in with her new peers. But Eleven and Mike—and presumably the rest of the Hawkins crew—are reuniting for the best spring break ever.
Given how things seem to roll with this particular crew, it’s safe to say a low-key, fun spring break is not in the cards. And whew does that montage of disaster confirm as much.
Meanwhile, back in Indiana, the rest of the group are up to shenanigans of their own. The last teaser showed the Indiana cohort investigating the Creel House, a key location this season and the site of a gruesome set of murders in the ’50s.
Additionally, Netflix revealed the titles for each of season four’s nine episodes, giving us just a few more crumbs to hold us over while we wait for the series to return.
The titles are:
- “The Hellfire Club”
- “Vecna’s Curse”
- “The Monster and the Superhero”
- “Dear Billy”
- “The Nina Project”
- “The Dive”
- “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab”
- “Papa”
- “The Piggyback”
These are certainly giving us a lot to think about.
It’s been nearly three years since we watched the Byers family and Eleven leave Indiana for a fresh start. And, you know, Hopper seemingly died. But at long last, Stranger Things 4 is finally on the horizon—albeit a slightly distant horizon in California. Netflix confirmed season four of the beloved series drops in summer 2022. Sure, it’s a little vague, but it’s a step in the right direction.
