San Diego Comic-Con. Those four words evoke some strong emotions for us geeky and nerdy folks. It could be many hours that we’ve spent queuing in line for a Hall H panel. Or perhaps that fruitless quest to secure the perfect hotel room… or a simple sandwich. But it also makes us think about the fun we have with friends and the cool reveals that the convention always brings us. Just when we thought San Diego Comic-Con couldn’t take things to a new level, the convention is taking its show to the seas instead. Yes, you read that right. As we learned via The Hollywood Reporter, there will be a San Diego Comic-Con cruise coming in 2025.
San Diego Comic Convention (the con’s parent company) and Entertainment Cruise Productions (ECP) are teaming up for Comic-Con: The Cruise. A ship full of wonderfully weird people will go from Tampa, FL to Cozumel, Mexico on the Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas. (In case you are wondering, that ship holds a little over 2400 people.) The cruise will take place from February 5-9 in 2025. ECP isn’t new to cranking out cruises of this variety. The company previously did a Star Trek cruise experience.
Comic-Con: The Cruise will give fans a chance to meet actors, creators, and more during special events and other activities. Typical cruise activities like trivia sessions and tastings will be available as well as theme night parties and tabletop gaming. The Comic-Con cruise will have vendors, Q&A sessions, meet and greets, group panels, and so much more. Now, here’s the part that everyone wants to know. How much does the Comic-Con cruise cost? Rates start at $990 per person for a double occupancy room. If you want to take your convention experiences to the high seas, head over to the cruise’s website for more information! Good luck, nerdy friends.
