I have a confession. I actually liked Prime Video’s Road House movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal. I went into it wanting to watch something with little to no plot and a maximum amount of punching. And you know what? It gave what it was supposed to give. No one can touch the genius of the late, great Patrick Swayze but this wasn’t a bad movie. Road House’s mid-credits scene revealed that Dalton’s nemesis Knox is not dead after all. Dalton left town but that revelation was a strong hit that he would possibly head back to The Road House in the Florida Keys. Amazon MGM Studios will give fans a Road House sequel. It is not clear if this movie will be in theaters or end up directly streaming on Prime Video.
According to Variety, Jake Gyllenhaal will reprise his role as Dalton in the Road House sequel, which is good news. There are no other details at this time but we can assume that Conor McGregor will return as Knox because, well, why not? Amazon MGM Studios says the film has garnered nearly 80 million viewers across the globe. That’s certainly the kind of numbers that call for another film. And who doesn’t want to see Jake Gyllenhaal kick ass at The Road House in a sequel film?
We will keep an eye on this and see what the next chapter of Dalton’s story holds.
