There are some stories that will continue to get adaptations from now until the literal world ends. One of them is Pride and Prejudice, the Jane Austen novel that’s been adapted for many film, television, and theater productions. According to Variety, Netflix now has a Pride and Prejudice series in development with Everything I Know About Love author Dolly Alderton to pen the script.
Predictably, there’s no further information about the Netflix Pride and Prejudice series. It is not greenlit and there are no cast members associated with the project. Honestly, I don’t believe that there’s anything that can top the 2005 film with Keira Knightley and Matthew Macfayden. But maybe this one will be enjoyable. Funnily enough, I enjoyed Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta on Lifetime, but that’s because Jackee Harry is a gem.
If it does come to Netflix, fans better hope that it is a miniseries. The streaming service is becoming more known for cancelling shows after only one season that they are for content that boasts longevity. We will see what happens.
