Apple TV+ Renews Silo for Season 3 and Final Season 4

Silo‘s second season just debuted on Apple TV+, but we already know when and how the series will end. And it’s the best kind of ending viewers could hope for. The streaming site has renewed the series for two more seasons. Yes, we’ll definitely be getting Silo season three and Silo season four, with its fourth set to be its final installment. That means the show will be a rarity in modern television. It will get to go out on its own terms having finished telling its story.

The Rebecca Ferguson-led Silo is officially getting four seasons to tell all of author Hugh Howey’s bestselling dystopian trilogy. Apple TV+ has made a final two-season commitment to the hit show. Silo is currently airing its second season. Season two will conclude on January 17, 2025.

That long-term plan means Silo can tell its entire story with the space and time it needs. More importantly, fans won’t have to worry about any unresolved questions after the final season of Silo airs.

“It has been a richly rewarding experience to adapt Hugh’s epic novels with our partners at Apple, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to bring this complete story to the screen over the course of four seasons,” said showrunner and executive producer, Graham Yost, in a press release discussing the final seasons of Silo. “With the final two chapters of Silo, we can’t wait to give fans of the show an incredibly satisfying conclusion to the many mysteries and unanswered questions contained within the walls of these silos.”

This news could/likely will lead to Silo growing its audience. Wary TV fans have a guarantee the show will give them an actual ending. (We call that the Anti-Netflix.) For those unfamiliar with the series, here is Apple TV+’s official synopsis for the show:

Silo is the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, their mile-deep home protecting them from the toxic and deadly world outside. However, no one knows when or why the silo was built and any who try to find out face fatal consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette, an engineer, who seeks answers about a loved one’s murder and tumbles onto a mystery that goes far deeper than she could have ever imagined, leading her to discover that if the lies don’t kill you, the truth will.

Silo also stars Tim Robbins, Common, Steve Zahn, Harriet Walter, Chinaza Uche, Avi Nash, Alexandria Riley, Shane McRae, Remmie Milner, Billy Postlethwaite, Rick Gomez, Clare Perkins, Caitlin Zoz, Tanya Moodie, and Iain Glen.

How many of them will make it to the end of Silo‘s story? We don’t know. But we do know we’ll definitely find out.
