Denis Villeneuve is getting ready for the biggest search in recent history as he seeks the next James Bond. After finishing up Dune: Part Three, the beloved director and his collaborators are looking for a “fresh face” to head the franchise following its move under Amazon MGM’s umbrella. Who will play the suave spy and take on the 007 moniker in Bond 26? We don’t know, of course, but there is some information that rules a few folks out.
First, Deadline reports that the next Bond will absolutely be a man, and the actor will be British. So, that means Glen Powell, Austin Butler, and quite a few others will not be in the running for this role. The actor will be in his late 20s or early 30s, so we are not getting a senior citizen Bond after all. We are so sorry, Mr. Brosnan. Fleming and Villeneuve are searching for a new Bond actor who will make the character a “blunt instrument.”
And somehow, they want Bond to be rather dull and uninteresting despite living a wild life. We are sure he will be tall and handsome because, well, it is James Bond. There’s also a chance that he could be a man of color, which makes things even more interesting.
We will have to see who that young, presumably hot, and very lucky dude will be when Denis Villeneuve and Amazon MGM find their new James Bond.
