We still have quite some time before VisionQuest makes it to Disney+ and keeps the MCU train going in late 2026. Paul Bettany will reprise his role as Vision in this series, which will show the character grappling with memories and identity. And, of course, a huge part of his memories are centered around his beloved Wanda Maximoff aka the Scarlet Witch. But, if you’re expecting Wanda to appear in VisionQuest, then you might be totally wrong. During an interview with Inverse, Elizabeth Olsen said she didn’t know much about VisionQuest until recently, which strongly suggests that she will not be in the series.
“I didn’t know anything about it until [Paul Bettany] and I spent some time with each other just the other week, and he’s so proud of it,” Olsen. “It really sounds like a trifecta between Agatha All Along and his show and what we made with WandaVision, so I’m excited to see that.”
The real question is whether she’s lying to throw fans off track or being completely genuine. It wouldn’t be shocking if she still made some sort of appearance in the show for a cameo but didn’t know a ton about it overall. After all, Olsen did say she’d jump at the chance to return as Wanda in the MCU. Or, she could simply be withholding the truth because that is what Marvel requires from its actors. Who knows.
It is hard to imagine Vision parsing through his past and coming to terms with who he is and not have Wanda be a part of that journey. But you can never really know what plans Marvel has for us. We will have to see if Olsen is telling the truth about Wanda not appearing in VisionQuest or not.
