NEUROMANCER First Teaser Trailer Logs Into Apple TV

Many of you will already know this, but for those who don’t we want to make you aware of something before you watch the first teaser trailer for Apple TV‘s upcoming series Neuromancer. William Goldman’s 1984 sci-fi novel is credited with creating the entire cyberpunk genre. Why is it important to know that before clicking play? Because it looks like a whole lot of cyberpunk movies inspired by the book.

As Apple TV’s first (real) teaser for its adaptation says, this story is quite literally genre defining. It certainly has a whole lot of the hallmarks cyberpunk fans associate with the genre, though with a little more sunlight than we’ve grown accustomed to. There’s a distinct lack of rain even if there’s a whole lot of plugging human beings into machines.

Strangest thing of all, though? Mark Strong not only with bleach blonde hair. Mark Strong totally pulling off bleach blonde hair.

What exactly is going on here? Neuromancer “follows a damaged, top-rung super-hacker named Case who is thrust into a web of digital espionage and high-stakes crime with his partner Molly, a razor-girl assassin with mirrored eyes, aiming to pull a heist on a corporate dynasty with untold secrets.”

In addition to Strong, the series stars Callum Turner (Masters of the Air) as Case and Briana Middleton (The Silent Planet) will play Molly. It also features Joseph Lee, Cleménce Poésy, Peter Sarsgaard, Emma Laird, Dane DeHaan, André De Shields, Max Irons, and Marc Menchaca. Showrunner Graham Roland (Jack RyanDark Winds) co-created the series with JD Dillard (The Outsider, Sleight). Dillard also directed the first episode.

This show teaser follows a production one that Apple debuted a little over one year ago. Now fans will have to wait six more months to see this genre-creating story. (Which, again, explains why it looks like so a whole lot of other cyberpunk stories.) It debuts at Apple TV on January 22, 2027.
