Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 premieres on October 20 showcasing a raw and dark future fans will not expect. Season two is completely different from the first with new characters and new stories.
Once at the top of his game, washed up cyberpunk, Weak, now lives a life without chrome. While Weak is trying to find his purpose in the world, the deadly nomad D is seeking revenge. Driven by vengeance, D uncovers secrets that were meant to stay buried.
The standalone series directed by Kai Ikarashi will span ten episodes–unveling themes of family, legacy and obsession. Characters will discover how their outlook on life shapes the stories of people around them.
Inspired by the video game Cyberpunk 2077 , the show features easter eggs, locations and imagery from the game. Valeria Rodriguez, Kimoy Lee, Cesil Williams and more are bringing characters to life.
Netflix Animation is making their mark, as they have two additional releases in the upcoming months. Bass x Machina, a six-episode limited series will air on November 3. Described as a “steampunk western” animation, the show follows brutal outlaws, machines and supernatural terrors.
Additionally, the show is loosely based on Bass Reeves, one of the first Black deputy U.S. Marshals west of the Mississippi River. In Bass x Machina, Reeves is a soldier-turned bounty hunter fighting to protect his family against outlaws and supernatural threats. Characters will be voiced by Black Hollywood royalty from Brian Tyree Henry to Janelle Monáe and Cree Summer to name a few.
Not to mention, Blue Eye Samurai season two will premiere at the top of the year. Releasing in January 2027, the show continues to follow Mizu on her bloody quest in London. She will face new and old friends, while battling her own demons.
All in all, the summaries alone have caught my attention. If only live-action shows were this dramatic!
