Cannibalism, spirits, and music, oh my! That feels like it sums up the new Studio 666 trailer released by the Foo Fighters for their upcoming horror comedy movie. We’ve gotten sneak peeks at Studio 666 before. But now we have our first full introduction to the film. And we have to say, the movie looks absolutely delightful.
And honestly, how could it not? The film is basically just fanfic written by the Foo Fighters about themselves. And in their alternate universe, they live in a high-camp horror movie. We have no choice but to stan harder. If we got famous, this seems like exactly what we’d do.
The movie looks like it starts off like many horror movies before it. A problem exists that can only get solved with a special retreat… to a haunted house. Except this time, the problem is the Foo Fighters need to write new music. Amazing. We can already tell that beyond the obvious hilarious fanfic conceit of it all, this movie will be chock-full of nods to Foo Fighters fans. Like Dave Grohl attempting to compose “Everlong”… again. We can’t wait to see everyone poke fun at themselves, honestly. All while spirits circle, monsters emerge, and band-on-band violence lurks as an ever-present threat.
The official description of the movie shares:
In Studio 666, the legendary rock band Foo Fighters move into an Encino mansion steeped in grisly rock and roll history to record their much anticipated 10th album. Once in the house, Dave Grohl finds himself grappling with supernatural forces that threaten both the completion of the album and the lives of the band.
We can only hope the band makes it out of the “creepy rock ‘n roll house that allows spiritual entities to cross into our world.” We, and the people of alternate-Foo-reality, need that 10th album.
Good luck Foo Fighters, we know you can save each other and save the music. And especially save Dave Grohl who seems like he needs help in this trailer. The Foo Fighters’ movie releases in theaters on February 25. You can buy tickets for Studio 666 right now.
