KILL BILL: THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR Drops a Bloody New Trailer

Back in the day, which in this case was 2002, a trailer for “the 4th Film by Quentin Tarantino” promised that in 2003, Uma Thurman would Kill Bill. That, of course proved not to be true; Tarantino’s stylish and bloody revenge film, over four hours long, faced a split into two films. Thus, 2004’s Kill Bill: Volume 2 ended up being the movie where Uma killed that guy. Almost instantly, a single-film cut of the two made it to DVD overseas. But Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, as Tarantino named it, has never had a proper theatrical release…until now!

Check out this fresh trailer for Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair:

Lionsgate announced the theatrical run, which will take place nationwide beginning December 5 of this year. The Whole Bloody Affair naturally removes the recap and narration from the beginning of the second half. New to this theatrical release will be a never-before-seen, 7½-minute animated sequence. Select presentations of the release will be in 70mm and 35mm, and it is anticipated that the film will play in all major markets. Presumably, the 70mm cut will play at the Tarantino-owned cinemas in Los Angeles, the Vista and the New Beverly. And why not!

Tarantino said, “I wrote and directed it as one movie—and I’m so glad to give the fans the chance to see it as one movie. The best way to see Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair is at a movie theater in Glorious 70mm or 35mm. Blood and guts on a big screen in all its glory!”

Kill Bill, 20 years old as it is, remains a high-water mark for modern action movies and definitely began a resurgence of Asian action cinema in the West. Tarantino loves himself some Asian cinema after all. I haven’t seen either half of Kill Bill in a cinema in a long time so this will certainly make for a bloody good time.

Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair comes to cinemas December 5. In the meantime, you CAN still check it out in its component parts.
